THE MAKER AND MENDER Pattern

A sampler celebrating the needle!  "The Maker and Mender" is a cross stitch pattern by Brenda Gervais of With Thy Needle & Thread.  The verse on the sampler is a line from the Praise of the Needle/The Needles Excellency, written by John Taylor in 1634. Brenda notes that she has loved this verse for many years.  

This small sampler is finished with the Hem Stitch. The pattern comes with two sets of alphabets for personalizing. Brenda used her initials along with her mother's, honoring her patience and the many hours she spent teaching Brenda to stitch as a young girl.  

Stitch count: 178 wide X 128 high.  Finished size (when using 36 count linen): 9 7/8" wide X 7" high.
